Living Land Acknowledging Workshop. Brought to you by Lenape Center.

Poster for Living Land Acknowledging Workshop

Part 1

The workshop will begin with a lecture on Lenape culture and history, from the history of Lenapehoking prior to colonization, settler colonialism, to the present Lenape Diaspora. It is an overview of centuries of history that remains largely unknown. This portion of the workshop is key to the creation of a Land Acknowledgment and related actions.

Part 2

This portion of the workshop informs participants on culturally relevant values in order to inform a "Living" land acknowledgement process. The workshop includes recommendations for best practices in creating a sustainable Land Acknowledgment.

This workshop serves as a continuation of the program "The Land We're On: Brooklyn Law School's Responsibility to and Relationship With the Lenape People" that took place on Feb. 28.
